If you are still filling out the home media side of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, this was a pretty fun official extra from StarWars.com.
When the film came home on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, StarWars.com shared three exclusive printable cover designs built from concept art for the movie. Instead of just tossing out a basic promo image, Lucasfilm highlighted some of the film’s strongest visual ideas and turned them into alternate insert covers and slipcovers that fans could actually use.
The three featured designs were “Death Star Duel” by Adam Brockbank, “Kijimi Vision” by Christian Alzmann, and “Pasaana Chase” by Stephen Tappin. That is a strong lineup right there. Whatever anyone thinks about the movie itself, The Rise of Skywalker absolutely gave artists some striking material to work with, and these covers lean into that in a big way.
The Death Star duel piece is probably the standout, because it captures the stormy Kef Bir sequence in a way that feels dramatic and mythic at the same time. But the other two covers are great choices too, especially if you want something that feels a little less like standard retail packaging and a little more like a custom collector’s piece.
StarWars.com also posted printable instructions for both insert covers and slipcovers, so this was more than a gallery post. It was an actual official fan project, which is the kind of thing I always like seeing from Lucasfilm when a movie reaches the home-release stage.
If you want to revisit the movie itself, we also have a growing The Rise of Skywalker page on the site, including cast, score, and ending-explained coverage.
