Story
Warner Bros. has kept most of The Great Beyond under wraps, but the early picture is already pretty clear. It is an original sci-fi / fantasy film from J.J. Abrams, and the first CinemaCon footage pointed toward a story about another reality pressing up against the ordinary world.
The early material suggested a mystery built on wonder, danger, and discovery rather than straight dystopian gloom, which fits Abrams especially well when he is working outside an existing franchise. Until Warner Bros. releases a full official synopsis, the CinemaCon footage and early trade reporting remain the clearest guide to the film’s premise.
