Apple TV+ renewed Presumed Innocent for a second season in July 2024 after the series became the streamer’s most-watched drama to that point. Deadline reported that David E. Kelley, J.J. Abrams, and Jake Gyllenhaal would continue as executive producers.
That renewal mattered for Bad Robot because it showed the company could still land a major TV hit in a much tougher market. Presumed Innocent was not an Abrams directing project, but it was still a clear Bad Robot win.
