Presumed Innocent Earns a Season 2 Renewal for Bad Robot

Abstract dark sci-fi fallback story image for J.J. Abrams Fans with a glowing mystery box, classic question marks, and cinematic blue lens flare

Apple TV+ renewed Presumed Innocent for a second season in July 2024 after the series became the streamer’s most-watched drama to that point. Deadline reported that David E. Kelley, J.J. Abrams, and Jake Gyllenhaal would continue as executive producers.

That renewal mattered for Bad Robot because it showed the company could still land a major TV hit in a much tougher market. Presumed Innocent was not an Abrams directing project, but it was still a clear Bad Robot win.

For AbramsFans, it is the kind of bigger-picture company story worth tracking, especially when it helps explain why Bad Robot remained a relevant player even as the market around it kept shrinking.
